Friday Flash 55 Fiction : Fatalist

Thought of a Death
Kept her alive.

Thus they'd
Conditioned 'n consoled
Her to believe
( her own kind) :

" Pain is momentary
Never lasting
Like a leaf picked
From a branch
Its color would fade too...

" Drying, Dying
With a flicker
And a twist...

" Pain is momentary
Never everlasting...
So never mind"...

She wasn't suicidal
Just abused....

mona-this is so sad. you're 55s keep us thinking. i'm up, too.

Sounds like your girl and mine need to hook up and take on the world. They'd kick butt! Akhiri Inteqam style! (but with better acting... jeez!)

Galen , 'Cardiologist of prose' :D that is classic! hehehe

LBB, No, no pleasures in there...just your imagination . In India, when women facing domestic violence run away from it to their parental home, their mothers usually send them back saying "learn to live with it, now that is your home, not this " ( have you seen the movie 'Mona Lisa's Smile'? watch it & you will see that it has been a universal phenomenon too at some time or the other...). They usually don't kill themselves for the sake of their children.

Ciara, sad AND true. I'll be right over...

Mojo, They sure do. I LOVE your girl :D
Although I wish things were different for her...
And for the rest...

Touches and saddens the heart. Great job!

Ooh, that does go nicely with Mojo's. Sad, though. At least he's writing of her revolution. There's hope.

I'm up, too.

Wow! That's really all I can say. Other than to agree with G-Man and say that you should make "The Cardiologist of Prose" your official title. ;-)

too true for too many people.

Loved it. Reminded me of when I was so sick last year. "Drying, dying..." Yep, that was it! Wonderful writing.

Mona said...

Serena, thank you!

Lime, yes indeed...

Donetta...I am sorry to hear that you were so ill, but I am glad that you have recovered now!

Mona: If you get a chance, email me and tell me how to put the copyright notice on your blog. Please! I'm worried about losing my 55ers when I want to keep them for story starters for other projects.
