Thought of a Death
Kept her alive.
Thus they'd
Conditioned 'n consoled
Her to believe
( her own kind) :
" Pain is momentary
Never lasting
Like a leaf picked
From a branch
Its color would fade too...
" Drying, Dying
With a flicker
And a twist...
" Pain is momentary
Never everlasting...
So never mind"...
She wasn't suicidal
Just abused....

Mona...
You have a way of cutting right to the heart...
The Cardiologist of Prose!!!!
Wow, this one is one of your best..
Thank You so much for sharing your brilliant empathy with us all...G
heheheheheheeeeee..(yahtzee)
Ah, I hear a little Epicures in there.
mona-this is so sad. you're 55s keep us thinking. i'm up, too.
Sounds like your girl and mine need to hook up and take on the world. They'd kick butt! Akhiri Inteqam style! (but with better acting... jeez!)
Galen , 'Cardiologist of prose' :D that is classic! hehehe
LBB, No, no pleasures in there...just your imagination . In India, when women facing domestic violence run away from it to their parental home, their mothers usually send them back saying "learn to live with it, now that is your home, not this " ( have you seen the movie 'Mona Lisa's Smile'? watch it & you will see that it has been a universal phenomenon too at some time or the other...). They usually don't kill themselves for the sake of their children.
Ciara, sad AND true. I'll be right over...
Mojo, They sure do. I LOVE your girl :D
Although I wish things were different for her...
And for the rest...
excellent 55!! how they console and condition to misinterpret pain and suffering!!
have a nice weekend!
Touches and saddens the heart. Great job!
Ooh, that does go nicely with Mojo's. Sad, though. At least he's writing of her revolution. There's hope.
I'm up, too.

Wow! That's really all I can say. Other than to agree with G-Man and say that you should make "The Cardiologist of Prose" your official title. ;-)
Ooh boy, thats a loaded one.
Oh that's too sad Mona. :(
You told such a lot in 55 words though.
Yet again Mona you say so much more with your 55 words, superb...
Mona, your talent is endless. I really enjoyed this.
I'm up here
Very powerful. Very good!
'Like a leaf picked from a branch, Its color would fade too . . ."
Brilliant metaphor. Edgy 55. Marvelous once again.
Pain may be brief, but scars remain forever visual or not.
Mona Galen is right your talent is awesome.
Have a great weekend.
Deepsat, thanks!
kb, thank you! ( I like that huge red pillow & you look like Thumbelina
reclining upon that :D)
Smarmy, I know. Yet I feel that hope lies only in peaceful means & processes !
Erica! Ok! I think I am 'officially' entitled :D Thanks for your kind words!
Susie, you bet! :) like .35 six bore! :)
Ake, sad indeed...
Queenie , thanks Dear!
Jenn, so are your talents my dear!
Buf, so kind of you to say that!
tree, By, Jove, "picked" it should be, I will change the word at once. Plucking is for fruits! Thanks once again for your kind comment :)
Missy, You are right there... Scars are different...
Once again, something deeply moving and powerful enough to make one think.
too true for too many people.
Loved it. Reminded me of when I was so sick last year. "Drying, dying..." Yep, that was it! Wonderful writing.
Donnetta
Serena, thank you!
Lime, yes indeed...
Donetta...I am sorry to hear that you were so ill, but I am glad that you have recovered now!
Mona: If you get a chance, email me and tell me how to put the copyright notice on your blog. Please! I'm worried about losing my 55ers when I want to keep them for story starters for other projects.
donnettalee@gmail.com
Thanks so much, Donnetta
You said so much in so few powerful words.
Wah, what a deep thought...thought of death keeping one alive...though looks contradictory at first, but so very true...wonderful
This is an oustanding and very thought provoking 55, Mona. Nicely done.
Donetta, will do!
Keith, thanks a lot!
Ashraf!, Indeed, that is a Paradox!
James! Thanks Buddy!
